During my senior year there were several swimmers who could beat me in my best event-the 100 free. Doc had obviously done the research on the opposing team’s swimmers and kept our best swimmers out of the 100 free that day. I came in first-the only win of my brief swimming career. I want to thank Doctor Page for that opportunity.
Ten years later I ran into Doc at the University of St. Louis swimming pool. He had dropped several pounds and was training for a triathalon. Out of the blue he quotes my best time in the 100 free! Wow, I was impressed. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Page

I have so many fond memories of Doc and swimming at West. I remember my Freshman year swimming in lanes 3 and 4 with all of the Seniors and feeling so small. I was humming some song and all of a sudden Doc asked me if I wanted some music on while swimming and he went into the office and had the guys turn on some music. He said my singing reminded him Lita Ford, which I am still not quite sure how, but I was more relaxed and less intimidated swimming with the older kids.
